PM Pashinyan Eurasian Summit Sochi 2018

We Are Committed To Active Cooperation With the EAEU

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan participated in the Eurasian Economic Union Heads of States’ summit meeting which was held in Sochi in the Russian Federation.


On the sidelines of key meetings, the Prime Minister had a series of introductory and consultative meetings and held a productive discussions with Moldovan President Igor Dodon; Moldova currently holds an observer status in the EAEU, subsequently had meetings with the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) Tigran Sargsyan, then held a noteworthy private meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, thereafter met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov.

Throughout all consultations, the Prime Minister received the congratulatory notes from the Heads of States and discussed the importance of strengthening the bilateral cooperation between partner countries in different scopes and underlined the necessary steps needed to boost mutual economic ties and increase of shared trade volumes.    

Participating heads of states discussed and coordinated further plans for economic integration, liberalization of goods, services, capital, and labor market.

The key milestones of the macroeconomic policy of the 2018-2019 for EAEU partner countries were adopted, as well as the new steps taken to develop cooperation in the spheres of nuclear and renewable energy, digital economy, healthcare and social policy.

It was decided to hold the next session of the Supreme Eurasian Council in late November or early December 2018 in St. Petersburg.
